Little One discovers that her window shows her something new every time she looks through it -- and learns that the world is full of magical details for anyone who looks with an open mind.
It was early morning, and the sun had just begun to rise over the mountains. Little One sat by her window, watching the world wake up to life. Outside it was quiet and peaceful, with only the sound of birdsong and the wind whispering through the trees. But Little One had always felt there was something more about this window.
"What's happening out in the world today?" Little One thought, wondering what awaited her.
The Window's Magical Perspective
As Little One sat and looked out, she noticed something strange. Every time she looked out at the world through the window, she saw different things. If she looked at the trees, she could see the green leaves dancing in the wind. If she looked at the little garden, she could see flowers opening toward the sun. But if she focused on the light streaming through the window, it began to form beautiful patterns on the floor.
"The window shows me different things, as if it has its own way of seeing the world," Little One said to herself.
She moved her head a little to the left, and the patterns on the floor shifted with her.
Looking Again
Little One leaned closer, until her nose almost touched the glass. The garden she had seen a hundred times was full of colors she had never noticed: a red berry under a leaf, a snail shining on a stone.
"Isn't that strange?" said Little One, wrinkling her brow.
"I can look at the world through the window, but it always shows me something new, as if the world keeps changing for me."

The World Through the Window
After a while, Little One began to use the window as her special place to look at the world. Every day she looked at the same garden, trees, and sky, but always in different ways. Some days she watched the clouds hurry across the sky. One morning a little bird landed on the branch closest to the glass. Little One held her breath and sat very still. The bird tilted its head, looked right at her, and sang.
"I think I've learned something important," Little One thought.
"Sometimes we have to look at the world from different angles to really understand it."
A New Perspective on the World
Little One pulled her blanket around her shoulders and looked out once more. It was the same garden, and yet it wasn't.
"Every time I look at the world, I see something new," said Little One with a smile.
"There are so many things to discover, and I can't wait to see them all."
Little One knew she could count on her window to show her the magical, beautiful world out there, no matter where she was.
The world looks different depending on how we choose to look at it. Openness and perspective can teach us so much more than we think.
