π Classic Literature for Kids
Some of the world's greatest stories were never written for children -- but their characters, adventures, and big questions can still speak to young readers when they're told the right way.
Classic Literature for Kids brings together our adaptations of famous novels and plays: the towering names of world literature, retold in a form a child can follow and enjoy.
These aren't summaries or study guides. They're real stories -- with real chapters, real characters, and real feeling -- built from works like:
- π Shakespeare's plays, from A Midsummer Night's Dream to Hamlet
- π Great novels by Dickens, Austen, Hardy, and Wilde
- ποΈ Adventure classics like Robinson Crusoe and Treasure Island
- π Mystery classics, including the cases of Sherlock Holmes
A note on faithfulness: every story here is a free adaptation, not the original text. Some of these works were written for adults and deal with themes -- love, loss, betrayal, revenge -- that we simplify, soften, or leave out entirely so the story works for children. Each story says so plainly, so you know exactly what you're getting before you read it together.
